Abstract of Masters Thesis:

NOVEL DESIGN OF TWIN SCREW CONVEYOR CUM DRYER

As drying is final processing step in many manufacturing processes, it has a major impact on a perceived quality of product. The optimum dryer design result into economic production, better product quality & protection of environment, for optimum evaluation of drying equipment, necessary to study  various process variables, equipment geometry on the basis thermal & hydrodynamic performance parameters.

Design of Twin Screw conveyor dryer depend on feed rate, feed characteristics, product specification, inlet & outlet temperature, particle size distribution, heat & mass transfer calculation, operative variables such as screw speed, degree of fullness, system pressure, material characteristics, flow direction of moisture carried gas with material to be dried, simulation, optimization further gives accurate design with capacity to give highest profit to plant.
